Default Crap!

Those of you who are familiar with DC, I have been working and commuting to Georgetown for 2 weeks. While my monthly parking is being processed I am parking daily in a surface lot operated by Colonial parking since I can park myself rather than having to valet (I have seen how these attendants abuse cars - intentionally while smoking down at below grade parking garage!!!).
Once processed as monthly, I can park myself even below grade garage.
Well, last Wednesday after 9 hours of parking, I walk up to the car and I see scratches on lower front bumper, driver side - good thing I was checking!
I call the attendant and bring his attention to this and he says "well, it's minor damage, it's like parking on the street...". I tell him I am paying $20/day so that I can avoid this kind of bulls**t! He keeps trying to weasel out of this. So, I point to the sign on his shack "All damages must be reported bofore leaving the premise". After shouting at him for awhile, I ask for his boss's #, call and finally get the form to report the incident. After I fill out my portion, the attendant fills out his portion and checks the box that says "uncertain" to a question - did the dmge happen at the lot?
Well, Ias I am signing the form I check the box "certain". He contests and I tell him your opinion vs. mine!
I had a preliminary discussion w/ the Claims dept. Hopefully their insurance will cover the repair... Life of urban living and my insistance in enjoying the car everyday...

Ah, well... On the positive side, front bumper had a whole lot of speckles from 108,000 miles of driving and it's about time to clean it up.

I have been a very good boy. Santa. Please???

Yun,
Sorry to hear man, but it could have been worse.

Guess your not going to put the cow pusher on the Z and head up to Jim's tomorrow?

If I can drive? For sure!
It looks like I won't even make it out the garage door. 'Know what I mean?
s for the bumper, really it needed new paint. So, this may be a blessing in disguise.

Just give the guy a "second chance"

I would have reacted the same as you for sure
I did tip him extra the next day.
I just don't like to leave my car with someone who hates me. Know what I mean?

Bummer about the damage. The new paint job will make the car look a lot better but it is always a hassle getting it done.

What, you mean you aren't driving up here today????

I have been out in the garage getting it warmed up. It's only about 9' deep and still coming down here in Westminster.

I feel for you Yun. If it would have been me I wouldn't have found the problem until I got home.

Same thing happened to me when I had my damaged resonator replaced at the muffler shop. I got it home and noticed a scratch on the drivers side 49th street rocker. And I know damn well it wasn't there before. But it was to late. At least you caught it before you left. You might get lucky.

I learned to give the car a quick once over after being at places where a damage could occur. Learned it a hard way.
