I have been using AC Delco oem coils for many years and will be switching to Sreamin Demon coils and MSD wires on my newly rebuilt motor. https://performancedistributors.com/...n-demon-coils/ |

Karl,
I bought my first ZR in 2007 and replaced the original coils w MSDs. I needed to replace them this year when I realized, accidentally, that the cases were cracking. I replaced several months ago w AC Delco coils. So the original MSDS were good for quite sometime. |

I also had Screamin Deamon coils on my 90 and they lasted about 3-4 years and one failed. Went back to AC Delco and that was 10 years ago.

5 years ago replaced working originals with AC Delco as a precaution. 3 months ago two of those coils failed. Replaced with four Standard Blue Streak. One of those failed within 100 miles. Replaced it with a known good 5 year old AC Delco and called it done. I am getting good at plenum pulls.

My '92 had what appeared to be an original set when I replaced my injectors in '17. They all had cracked housings. I put MSD's in and so far haven't had any problems. After seeing this thread, I decided to look and see what's out there. There are now two AC Delco coils to choose from on RA. There is now an "AC Delco Professional" with brass terminals and a slightly different housing that is molded in a similar shape to the blue streak coil.
