I had the complete set flow tested and 4 injectors had a poor flow pattern aside from the injector with failed aerator.
Oh $hit,Ive had Accels in my car for the past 12 years.

I'm just giving you a "heads up". Worth having a look when u have the opportunity and if you may be having an issue. Its going to be dependent on the miles you drive as well.

All of this begs the question, why is GM selling injectors that are incompatible with modern fuel?

You would think that there would be a parts update with Delco injectors changed to stainless.

I spoke at length with the tech support folks at AC Delco about 10 years ago when I was wondering the same thing having had to change my failing AC Delco Multec fuel injectors.
I was told that this particular series of fuel injectors were designed before ethanol was ever considered to be used as an additive to gasoline.
They never re-engineered these specific fuel injectors because they weren't used in enough cars to absorb the cost of the update. And they knew that there were ethanol compatible replacements in the aftermarket.

Why they continue to sell these is a mystery, especially if they *know* they aren't compatible with today's gasoline. Perhaps they made so many back then that they're still selling off new-old stock.

My advice would be to do an injector tip inspection on your next plenum pull. Even better, have them flow tested.
My Accels were ten years old and just got swapped out. Incredible improvement, going with FICs. Like a new car.

I think it's time to replace the Accels with some new FICs.

X4! (ask me how I know!!)

Yep. FIC (Jerrys Gaskets has the whole "kit" including gaskets and O-rings, etc.)
OR Summit Racing for the Accel #150821 (but you have to remove the little plastic indexing nub on the 8 injectors headed for the secondary ports: takes maybe 5 minutes with a Dremel - bit longer w/ a file.)

Whichever injectors u upgrade to, invest just a few extra $$ and have them flow tested b4 installing them. Then do your own matching of injector pairs. The difference in how the motor runs is night and day.
