To those of you with the stock brace, it looks like it would be prone to rattling with a 3" exhaust. Is it?
The stock brace does look subject to crimping. Would it be worthwhile to box it, or build one from rectangular tubing? Maybe boxing it would not be effective, if the brace is designed to cross tie the frame rails together rather than provide torsional rigidity. |

I know that there's someone on the other forum that boxed the x brace, But I don't know that they had before/after opinions about it.
There is some contact between the brace and the y-pipe , you can see the area of rubbing in one picture above. I would like to avoid it but I haven't really noticed any vibration while driving, so it is low on my priority list. btw, hit 198k miles today!
