If the LT5 ZF is one inch longer than the standard zf, and the LT5 bellhousing is one inch deeper as a result, where is the space made up? I believe the shifter lines up in the same spot as c4's, driveshaft same length, engine cradle the same...are the mounts different? I ask because i just dropped my LT5 into custom chassis for my 66 roadster and end of tranny is 1" past mounting holes. Mock up was done with lt4, standard zf. Not a real problem as engine mounts and tranny mount are fabbed and can be done again. Will decide which ones to move when I drop on body and check firewall clearance. Either way, must be done before I cut driveshaft.
