Oh I remember that phase.. it lasted 7 years...

Now it is the 'UPS (or FedEX, or USPS) dropped off another car part' phase

If this is a phase,i'm going on 30 years and my phase is still going strong.

Lee, When Craig pulled his bottom end apart the liners were glazed over and unusable. His problem was a smoking engine, too.

Compression test:
5 cranks:
1=152 2=190
3=150 4=180
5=180 6=160
7=190 8=180


Then did #3 on the 92 @ 210

Uhhhh.....forgot to hold the throttle open on first test.....

Almost all were 178-182....with 1 at 190 and one at 165.

92 tested at 210 even

Did you spritz any oil into cylinders and re-test for valve or piston ring?

It would be sad to pull it out to replace the heads and find out it was the rings & or the liners after you put it back in. I think another compression test & a leak down test is in order
