Well I bought some Dymags for the Z. Had the blasted and coated gunmeat grey. Would have like a lighter shade but that what I have. Wheels had been coated three times and the blasting wasnt kind to them. I think I will need to go silver over winter to hide some flaws.
Now I need to get tires. I have Goodyears with 5000 miles on the refinished stock wheels. I think instead of swapping I just get something new. I need to find out my options as the Goodyears appear to be wider than most other tire. Not a lot of 335/35-17 tires...ideas anyone ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I think the thing to remember is that Dymags are a Sand Cast wheel, they are very rough and not perfect.......the face of the wheel is actually very grainy and then they are machined....the ones I have are not machined.

Lee , Chris by yu did them. He said that they had at leat three layers on them. Grey, black, white and he figures silver base.
The finish looks good, but the surface has areas that look like runs and sags. But you cant feel them. Some porouis spider webbing also. All part of the nature of the whell. I understand that. Im thinking a light color might hide the flaws better. Chris said bring them back over winter and he will redo them if Im interested. Jeff you offering to buy me Michleins,,,,Kuhmo or Nitto might be in order. I like the Kuhmos on the 79. |

They usually came from the factory with a gold color epoxy to seal it, covered by silver coat, which was often painted white. It comes off in big chips.
