I'm interested in making some performance modifications to my stock 1991 ZR1. I want to keep it simple with cold air induction, exhaust and a chip. The problem is that I'm not sure which products I should go with to get the most performance for the dollar. Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

CAI - no real gains to be had. Just doa K&N and a cut lid.
Exhaust - Corsa or B&B are the most popular, find a few locals and go for a drive to see which you like the most. Chip - Haibeck |

Gained a bit???? When I did mine I gained over 25rwhp. With the Haibeck chip I gained 10rwhp over the DRM chip.

While not everyone agrees with each other over choices of exhaust or chips, most will tell you the same thing Jeff did regarding the intake. It would seem that the stock intake system is about the best you can hope for since very little if anything is gained except a lighter wallet.
According to Mark Haibeck your best bang for the buck would be rear gears. While I have not done my gears, I have added headers, x-pipe, B&B exhaust and it sounds and runs strong. ![]() |
