I want to put on my nitto drag radials tomorrow.
Can I jack up the ZR-1 on the rear differential or cross member to get the rear in the air and get the existing rims and tires off the car? I'll put jack stands under it as well. Best spot for jack and jack stands? |

Take a look at Marc Haibecks site. He has a new Jack adapter that goes under the pumkin and lifts the rear all at once

Very cool but I'm looking to be able to do it tomorrow safely ![]() Is that the only option? Where is best spot for jack stands also? It will only be in the air a few hours while I get tires fixed up. |

Jim there is no place that a jack can be placed to use the gear housing as a jack point. There is too much stuff in the way, exhaust pipes mainly, to even get the jack pad on the gear housing. There aren't any cross members to catch either. I for sure wouldn't even think to use the C beam or the pinion housing end of the beam as a jack point.
You need Marc's device or you do one side up at a time and put the jack stands in the recess just in front of the rear wheel well. There is a metal channel that is oriented transversely at that point and that is where I put my jack stand. Just mind the brakes lines and the parking brake cable on the left side. There is nothing much in the way on the right side. ![]()

I have Marc's jack extender and in order for me to use it I would have to remove the exhaust system. Too much work. Didn't know this before I purchased. Maybe some of the other brand exhaust have more space between the pipes and this piece fits in between.

Thanks for everyones help. I just did one tire at a time and I used a traditional jack and a bottle neck jack for safety while I got the tire mounted.
