Have caight up on all the posts - first back since mid-Dec.
I will be joining at Nebraska City-good stopping point for early lunch, then push through KC. Any idea of time out of NP at this time? What is final decision on where we're staying at O'Fallen? Looks like my son won't be making the trip-so I guess I'm ready to book a room in BG - is the Uplaza where most of the group is staying? My right foot is itchin really bad-4" of snow today;( |

WydGlydJim is planning on joining in Kansas City. He also recommended a BBQ place, it's off route for us though. what's everyone think about that?

Roughly 4 1/2 hours to KC from Grand Island, 6 1/2 from North Platte. If you leave North Platte at 6:00am we would arrive in KC at 12:30, best case. Figure 10 minutes to pick me up and 10 for Mike and it is 1:00 or so...
I am game for anything, but you and Jeff might not want to start that early?? We are planning on eating at Keith's correct?

If we could hook up with the FBI in Kansas City we would be like hoodlums in ZR-1's. A bunch of hoodlums in fast cars. TROUBLE.

To get to I-70, you guys will hop off of I-29, and hit 435. From 1-29 435 is like a big box, that goes south down the west side of KC, then it goes east and west south of I-70, then it goes back north on the east side of KC, and you can pick back up I-70. Like a big box that lets you go around the city. Gates BBQ is located on the southern most east and west leg of the box. From the restaurant it is 10 minutes back up to I-70. So you almost have to come down that far anyway. Here is a link.......just hate to have you guys miss out on that good KC BBQ! Here's a link to make it a little more clear. Focus on where I-29 picks up 435, and then follow it around should make sense. Interact with the map to the north, and to the west up by the airport to get the I-29/435 connection.

Going to St Louis, I have always taken the East to South part of that box by Worlds of fun, etc the catch I-70 right at Arrowhead. Is that the way you describe our route?
So, if we go south on I-435, we go past I-70 and then follow I-435 back to the west to the BBQ place?
