Default Dymag Weight

Just had the old 315 dismounted off the Dymags I just picked up....the manager of the store kindly asked to not bring any more in......they are scared of damaging them.

Also weighed them vs Cuisinart wheels....a 17x9.5 cuisinart was 23.5lbs....Dymag of the same size was 17.8lbs. These do not have the machined provision for the center, if they did I would assume they would be even lighter.

The 17X11 rears are between 18.5 and 19lbs.

With 315s on the Dymags, I want to say it was 46lbs....but that will vary from tire to tire......18lbs approx for rim, and 28 for tire.....those were inflated with the weights, etc

so you cannot get tires mounted to the Dymags now? since they don't want to damage them?

No, I just need to go to another tire place like Discount, etc. I made the mistake of trying to support a local tire company that his been in business since 1914(They did carriage wheels before cars). The manager stopped the guy who I was working with and pulled him aside and had a sidebar with him.

The guy then came back and made it sound like these were made of glass and a good chance they would crack. They were either worried about the cost if damaged or I almost think they saw it as a fire risk(a lot of Magnesium myths out there).

Will go to a national dealer next time.
