This was 3rd time I've used DAS and every time their service gets better. Scheduled ETA on shipment from their Las Vegas Terminal was Oct 2. They have something new so I could track movement of the truck with my Vette with each mile it moved. It arrived 4 days ahead of ETA.
When I saw that the truck had arrived I called their Lakewood Terminal and they said it was unloaded just 30 minutes B/4 my call. We picked it up Tuesday AM and it was everything I had expected...no suprises. We drove it about 125 miles to our home on Whidbey Island & it performed perfectly. The Sumi's that look like brand new that I got from another great Registery Forum member arrived Yestreday. I'll feel better driving it W/O those 20 year old Gatorbacks on it. They are in great condition, but I'll save them for come NCRS judging. Thanks again for all your help, ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by ZRWON; 10-03-2009 at 02:21 AM. |

I don't intend to do the NCRS thing...just drive it as often as I want and don't think whatever miles I put on it in the next few years will have much impact on market value. The original Gatorbacks show little wear for their 14,354 miles of use and will be available for the next owner if NCRS judging is in the future. ![]() ![]() |

I contacted a lot of other haulers that were priced at a fraction of the White Glove self impressed braggarts and they all sounded like used car salesmen promising everything. I finally went back to DAS; they had served me well in the past and I had little, if any, motivation to pay thru the nose or experiment with the other bunch. Once again DAS did an outstanding job, did everything they said they'd do, and more than I expected. Maybe I've just been luckey but all in all it was a very pleasant and cost effective move...I'll probably give them strong consideration if and when I need to ship another car. PS: tks for the nice comments about my new toy ![]() |

Nice car Bill, I think you got a hell of a deal there.
If you would, how much was shipping to your place? Where again did it come from? Are you going to maybe drive it to BG for the 2oth Bash in May? Thanks. |

We had originally planned to trailer it home but both wife and I couldn't wait to drive it. We both enjoyed playing with it on the trip home while the other followed in our daily driver car. Right now we don't think we'll make it to BG next year but we are for sure going to Palm Desert next spring to welcome Jim VanDorn, and his AutoMasters crew back home from BG after 5 years...probably drive BEAST2 so JVD can find an excuse to do something to it and then he'll have a reason to drive it one more time and make sure I've not neglected or abused it over the past 6 years. ![]() ![]() Last edited by ZRWON; 10-22-2009 at 12:15 AM. |

That price seems reasonable especially considering the car got there in great shape.
Sure wish JVD had stayed in BG another year for the 2010 Gathering. |
