Default Floaty ride?

Now that my Z is up and running, I've noticed that the ride seems rather floaty compared to my '94 C4 (LT1, with base FE1 suspension). It seems like I get quite a bit of bounce after relatively gentle highway dips... And it doesn't seem like changing the FX3 setting does very much. I occasionally get a "Service Ride Control" light upon startup.

EDIT: I just found the procedure to pull the FX3 codes, so I'll do that tonight and post my findings.

Sound like the bilsteins need a rebuild/revalving?

BTW, the car has 65K miles, and sat for approx 2 years before I bought it.

Well the fronts can be had on Ebay for $183 the rears youll have to pay full boat. I dont recommend revalving as a total rebuild is over $120 each and unless your going with a Morraco valve setting and planning on Autocrossing the car its simply better to buy new. A member a while back went through the process and was Low balled on the revavling job and he received his old nasty looking revalved shocks back He said crap he had to paint them before he put them back on the car. End result for an extra $30 each shock could have been new. Just some thoughts GC

I was going to go the re-valve route. but I got the eBay deal on the fronts.. I still need the rears, but I have a complete set off the car right now too.. Those I was going to send in for a re-valve.. but might just buy 2 new ones for the rear.

I would not mind the modded controller though as i thought at one time there were different PROMs for the controller

I found Summit racing had them even cheaper than eshocks. And I feel a bit better buying from Summit. Though they were not "in stock".

FYI to the OP, if changing from "tour" to "perf" doesn't feel like anything happens, something is wrong. Sport and Perf feel somewhat similar, but tour and perf are quite different to my butt.

Same price now basically 179.95 @ Summit and I agree I would buy from summit before eshocks

As for the controller, I agree, Touring to Perf is a noticeable difference

Now that I think about it, I don't recall switching to Perf, just stayed between tour and sport. Next time out, I'll try Perf for comparison.
