I'm not sure what I'm looking for to change my rear gear to a 4.09 (4.10). But, a ring and pinion for a 2005 Viper runs $215 from Chrysler Mopar Direct. I wonder if that is the right stuff, and what else should I "put in my basket" to go along with the swap?
TIA, P. |

Paul,
Here is the Mopar part number you need for the Viper 4.10 gears that work with our Dana 44s with 3/8" ring gear bolts: P5007043 Later Viper Dana 44 ring gears used 7/16" bolts. Here is a privious thread with some useful info on Viper 4.10 gears: http://www.zr1netregistry.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7419&highlight=viper+gears If you have the right PN $215 is a fantastic price for a set of Viper 4.10s. They usually go for $260 or more plus shipping. What is the web address for Chrysler Mopar Direct? |

It is my understanding that the 4.10 viper gears are now manufactured in China. I would check into it first before buying.
