I just got back from the Sealy drag strip. Every time I ran my times got better and better. I didn't do anything special setting the car up. 32psi tire pressure 93 octane gas and a oil change of Royal purple the night before. Running Vredestein tires. My friend had a Ford Lightening and my other buddy Terry who owns a corvette performance shop had his 2006 vette with heads and cam. pushing 500rwhp. The ford Lightening couldn't get passed 13.46 (which is damn fast for a truck) But they both kept having to let there cars sit for 30 minutes between runs to let the engine cool down. Man I raced 11 times and 7 of the 11 in a row without stopping. No overheating problems at all. And each run was better than the last. I found where my cars sweet spot was for launching. Right about 4000. My best time was 13.0564 @ 110.32. I was trying to break in to the high 12's and probably would have with better traction but I was pretty happy with that 13.056.
![]() This was my second best run. ![]() And here is me and Terry's 500rwhp vette running against each other and our best times of the day. ![]() My Z ran perfectly. It was all about the driving from there on. ![]() |
