Pete, Paul Workman and myself went today. Really fun. About 70 Vettes showed up altho only 3 ZR-1s
![]() Pete really blew them away running 11.4s with a high trap of 128 WOW! No question the LT5 is such a top end motor. My last run was up against a late C6 coupe. Had a problem gaining traction on 1-2 shift. Lost several tenths right there but was 6mph faster 114.5 at the top than C6. Just walked away from him last 1/8. Raised $1100 for charity. Looking forward to doing it again next year. ![]() Last edited by XfireZ51; 10-11-2008 at 09:46 PM. |

Awesome day! Watching Pete n Dom run was thrillin stuff.
![]() On the next run I made a point to run it out to see what would happen, but the dyno test from a couple weeks ago foretold that story: power peaks around 5.8k, so shifting around 6.3 or 6.4 would be a "good thing" (apparently), and wringing it out to 7k - sounded great - but not productive for the stock setup. However, that is about to change...I have a die grinder and new 3" SW headers, and I reeeeeeeeaaallly liked the look and sound of both Pete's (modified B&B) and Doms 3" (Flowmaster??) exhausts - especially the sound of Dom's. Sooo, I have a winter project, "fer sher". (P&P the top, SW headers, 3" something (no cats), mebby a bigger TB(?), and a tune, of course. Then we'll see what that does to the traps! ![]() Dom is right tho...The Z's held their own and pulled like a freight train past the 1/8 point" - especially theirs which don't peak (hp wise) until 7k+ ![]() ![]() P. |

Paul,
Just to clarify, the exhaust is a MagnaFlow on my car. We had fun didn't we. Hopefully, we'll see some pics or vids of the runs. |

i would love to see videos of you guys running your cars , especially petes fine ride . to see a stk blk run 112.3-4 with 3.45 gears is very impressive.and shows a dedication to see what can be wrung out of a stk blk. i think if he went to a 3.90 gear he could with a preped track get to the holy grail 10s
