Thats a damn good goal to work on. Nothing is quite as intimidating as to know that the other guy's car is well sorted and can hook. A strong starting line advantage is so hard to overcome.

I have had 1.82-1.88s with a easy launch 2400 from my 4l80e / irs on 315 bfg dr- holds together pretty good so far- I changed the chip tonight in the trans pcm to match the 3.73s LPF did for it 15 years ago( it had a chip for 4.09s)..so we shall see Tuesday if there is a change.

the irs holds up alot better with an auto trans, less shock to the car on launch. again i am not knocking the irs setup. i just wanted a totally bullit proof piece when i have to drive 200 miles one way to go race .this car i primarily use just for drag racing. up date on the best irs time 11.722@117.50 with a1.72 60ft.. am going today with new settings to the solid rear and a new prom cal i might only get1 pass as i dont have a roll bar in her yet

I am lucky to be in Indy as they are not as picky what tire did you have for the 1.72

hoosier 335x35 17 set at 19 lbs. tonight with the solid set up 1135 @ 118.43 mph with a 1.46 60 ft . but i only got 1 run as i broke the 11.50 no roll bar rule . now have to find a good roll bar for the car. it was fun though as the car felt like it was shot out of a cannon

.i used a different prom with fuel and timming changes above 3500 also uped the fuel cutoff to 7500.also left the line @6300 rpms. built my own with the help of some friends , but to be honest pretty much copied the one ski down it sells. and ya know what its not too bad around corners . but i am no road racer. there just is so much stuff that can break in a irs. stubb axels 1/2 shafts etc. plus the body damage if something really cuts loose . to me it just was no brainer as i had a whole 9 in laying around from an old mustang i built in 2003 . if some one is looking for a solid rear ski down it has one at a decent price that comes with coilovers is a total bolt in.my callaway z will allways have the irs in it . but the black car i use just as a daily driver and a drag car.
