What it should look like.
The car is a 94 ZR-1 that was in an accident. Car has been repaired, now the motor must come out to replace the balancer that was damaged by the steering rack. Took a while to track this down. Engine has a horrific vibration that starts at 3,000 rpm and shakes the clutch pedal, shifter and well basically the whole damn car the higher you go. The rack was pushed into the balancer, the rack has a groove cut in it, and well the balancer no longer balances. |

I see the groove in the first picture, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what the piece is that we're looking at and where it lives.
You actually have to remove the engine from the car to remove the harmonic balancer? I would have thought that removing the radiator and all the accessories on the front of the motor would leave enough room to get it off. ![]() |
