Mystic ZR-1,

Thanks. Have used DeWitts several times in other Corvettes with good results.

Question - has anyone used Marc's 170 degree thermostat? Would like to know if it helps when driving in high Texas summer heat stop'n'go traffic.

OK guys, have all the bolts/nuts/screws out of the radiator shroud.

Driver's side up in the air approx 25 degrees. Pass side - unable to get passed the A/C lines, especially the lowest one.

What's the trick to get the right side of the upper shroud out?

Thanks,

Gary

For me, it was a lot of trial & error, just hoping I wouldn't break anything. However you get it out, remember because it goes back the same way.

Subfixer,

Got'er out. Had to trim a tad bit more off of the pass side shroud mount and slightly use a prybar to get around the lower A/C hose.

Radiator had some debris on it, but not bad.

Appreciate your help and guidance. Thanks,

Gary

Guys,

Am having a hard time getting the upper shroud reinstalled.

Problem is getting passed the small radiator outlet hose on the upper RH side of the new DeWitts 2 row radiator. The outlet is stuck against shroud back on the housing.

Have the upper radiator shroud at 90 degrees and the lower end of the RH shroud flange almost to the bottom hose.

Appreciate y'all's input on how to get the RH side of the shroud in place.

Thanks,

Gary

Any ideas.

Guys,

Gave the upper shroud another try. Some whamming and pushing and the shrouds down over the radiator.

Appreciate everybody's support. Now to button it all up.

I don't remember how I did it since it was several years ago. Probably the same way you managed it. Getting the spacers in will be another challenge.

SubFixer,

Took at least 6 to 8 tries to get the upper radiator shroud in. Would try every 20 minutes or so. Twisting and banging. Finally got it passed the small upper radiator inlet and then it fell right into place.

Just finished aligning the nose and getting the easy 4 of the 7mm flat head screws in. Was able to use a long 7mm socket screwdriver to remove and reinstall those screws.

Will use a 7mm swivel ratchet wrench to install the top 2 flat head screws. Use blue painters tape to jam and hold the screw heads into the wrench head.

If you're referring to the 1/4 inch radiator spacers? Already have the bottom installed. Had to get long screws. Clamped the fan housing down with vice grips and just couldn't get the 10mm screws to start.

Thanks,

Gary

Help, how do I get the electric air pump 2 inch air input hose to stay on the air pump when I tighten the clamp?

Seat the rubber hose & block it with a piece of wood.

When I tighten the clamp, the hose starts sliding off.

Only thing I can think of right now is using RTV.

Thanks,

Gary
