I occasionally have random ssues with my air conditioning. Such as
- system spontaneously falls back to "default" mode (24?C, AC on, all on "Auto", etc) - system won't react to pushing any control unit buttons - led flashes with no noticeable impact or failure code set - led flashed with low refrigerant failure code but AC blows ice cold - led flashed with low refrigerant failure code and no AC operation. Battery disconnect fixes the issue and AC works fine again with no codes I suspect that the HVAC control unit has issues. Is there a fix such as swapping capacitors as you normally do on Bose the various Bose components? Or will swapping the whole unit be the way to go? I'd prefer a fix as my unit ist like new...

I had the same problems several years ago. Pulled the unit, replaced the caps and reheated some cold looking solder connections. Has worked perfectly since - over 12 years. Remember to pull the screw in the vent at the top of the center stack bezel.
