Tech 1 connection to laptop
Hi - I am struggling to connect my Tech 1 to a laptop. I wish to do this so I can analyse and print Tech 1 data. My Tech 1 has an RS232 interface port on the left side of the unit just to the left of the Tech 1 label. Although an RJ45 connector will plug in, nothing happens when I plug the other end of the RJ45 into my laptop (I didn't think it would but thought I'd give it a try!). My laptop is a Samsung RS40, about 8 years old.
Please can anyone who has managed to get their Tech 1 to talk to their laptop give me hints Thanks Richard Sent from my iPad using ZR-1 Net Registry

Re: Tech 1 connection to laptop
I'm no expert, but you need some sort of program to talk RS232. You need to set the com port, Baud Rate, Parity and stop bits. All those parameters need to match the protocols of the Tech 1.
We use something at work. I'll try to find the program name. Pretty sure it's built into the Windows operating system. Sent from my Pixel 4a (5G) using ZR-1 Net Registry mobile app

Re: Tech 1 connection to laptop
Thanks Subfixer - Any help would be appreciated! The only info that I have been able to establish (through the relevant Tech 1 manuals) is that the Baud Rate is 9600 bps. This can be altered on the Tech 1 for the duration that power is applied to match with the laptop used. With regard to Com Port, Parity and Stop Bits, I'm hoping that some magical piece of software that I just have to plug in will take care of this!!
