Sorry to hear this Yun. Yeah, our cars do have a challenging ingress/egress and I wonder how I will fair in 10 years? That is why a lot of them have the loose column from people using the steering wheel to get in or out. I wish I could see one of these in a C4 Corvette or a comparison of the generations. https://youtu.be/b2HDFTIfetQ Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

Neat video! Interestingly, C7 is more difficult for me to get in and out of compared to C4. Seat to front of the door opening is shorter in C7s from my assessment. Didn?t actually measure but mt body tells me so.

Thanks for your thoughts. I thought for sure our C4s are the worst with those high sills. I have no idea how the big and tall do it. The C4 ZR-1 is my last Corvette so I will never know about the others generations. Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

Re: Thinking of getting a new Ferrari or Lamborghini after retirement?
I'm a tall but skinny guy - with my feet at the pedals and my bum in rearmost and lowest corner of the seat my hair touches the headliner. However, for me that tiny capsule you have to squeeze into was one of THE reasons to get a C4/ZR-1 and it even HAD to be the 1st generation with those pilot seats.
That's why to me, more than any other Corvette, the C4 feels like a pure and uncompromising sports car. It doesn't ask much what it can do for your. It just gives you the facts to handle them. My friends call her "fighter plane on wheels" (which is even emphasized by the glass top). Once you're in, you're in Only the poorly adjustable steering wheel lowers the fun. An actually adjustable steering column instead of a tilt wheel would have been better I'd say. Is it easier to get in and out of a late model?

Re: Thinking of getting a new Ferrari or Lamborghini after retirement?
I had a C5 before this a few years ago and it was WAY easier to get in and out of, and the memory seat and steering wheel moving each time you got in and out made it also that much easier. The sill was not as high either. It was very comfortable, even on long 1000 mile trips but the seat did not grip you as well as the ZR-1 I have now. You are actually part of this car instead of just sitting in it.

Re: Thinking of getting a new Ferrari or Lamborghini after retirement?
I saw a C8 Convertible with a Lambo Door mod last night. You may not like the look, but from what I could tell it improved access to the C8 tremendously.
I cannot personally attest how hard it was to close the doors from the inside, but the driver and passenger got right in and seemed to close the doors very easily. Sent from my SM-G955U using ZR-1 Net Registry mobile app |

I heard that Lamborghini is coming out with a Vette door option!
