I'm going to be a naysayer here. How exactly does the car have engine failure "in the 22nd hour" and only travel 57 laps? The 1967 Corvette that competed at LeMans died in the 11th hour and went 167 laps. The ZR-1 must have died FAR earlier than the 22nd hour. Second, given the durability of the LT5 engines in general (clearly demonstrated at the Fort Stockton 24 hour event back in 1990), this does not speak well of the LeMans development effort with the engine dying so soon in the race.

First issue was early 1-2 laps. See image
Second issue occurred later, as a result of piston/liner damage that occurred in issue 1.

I love anything 24 hours of LeMans, and love the history of this car. I remember seeing the article in Road and Track about the Black Widow cars. And then to take one to LeMans.....just amazing what was done in the time they had to do it. That air duct and filters are just nasty looking ( nasty in a good way) and the view of this car from head on is just gorgeous!! I want to hear this Beast fire up and stretch its legs. I'm sure it sounds as good as it looks...... Dang I wish I was stupid rich, as this would be sitting in my garage
