Well, this sucks. Drove nearly 300 miles to attend the Corvette show at the Circuit of Americas. Just before getting to hotel, last night, 90 ZR-1 started spitting and bucking, then cleared up. Started up this morning, and it barely made it 6 miles to the track. Have CE light and shitish smoke. Car has 70k and have put 1500 miles on it in the last two months with no issues. Any ideas. Any recommendations on an Ausrin shop if I have to have this thing towed?

Since you have the CE light the first thing to do is pull the codes. Use the paperclip method, then look up the code on your phone. You are more than half way to fixing your problem.

Posted reply on CF - probably the nearest ZR-1 specialist is Henderson Performance in New Braunfels, about 50 miles away.

Check the MAP sensor vacuum line at the back of the plenum. If it came off the car can exhibit these symptoms. Henderson is the closest. Also check with Steve at Crossed Flags Performance in Magnolia, but that's farther away.

Just checked with Henderson. They no longer do mechanical repairs.

You can?t see the vacuum line from the top of the map sensor. You need to reach under to feel if it came off as CCMANO mention. Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

The MAP sensor is under that rectangular aluminum plate. The vacuum line is on the bottom and connects to the back of the plenum.

Well shoot! Didn't see your post until after the wrecker came. I was just looking for hoses on top. If that is all it is, hopefully Austin Corvette won't hit my wallet too hard. Towing company already raped me.
