Check with your bank for their procedures, as you can have the person wire the money directly into your account. Once the funds are confirmed you can withdraw the money. Only then would you consider sending the car, and not a minute before. International transfers do occur every day between governments, industry, and private transactions. The trick is to make sure the actual money is in hand prior to sending anything of value.

Yep! I agree completely! Only way to do it is with a wire transfer. Wire transfers cannot be reversed by the sender. Once it's in your account, it's yours, unless of course the money was part of illegal activity. No cashier checks, there are many counterfeits out there and even if its authentic, cashier checks can have stop payment orders placed.

BTW, I got the same Scotland email today also.......

It is a scam for sure. Every time someone wants to send you more money and wants to be reimbursed for the difference it is a scam.

They are not interested about your car, only some of your money. This is not a possibility, it is a fact.

This is true. I had a Harley listed on the net a couple of years ago, and it brought a number of these scams. Most common is the "I will send you extra money (usually way more then the actual shipping charge) for shipping." They will also have a reason for you to ship quickly. The theory is that you will deposit their check, send them a rebate and then their check will not clear, and you are stuck with owing your bank. I got so many of these scams, that I just advertised locally and sold to a local. Also, be careful of third party "escrow" deals. Some are not on the up-and-up. Especially if they recommend the third party. Just use common sense and remember: If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!
