So, what is the correct designation for our engines, LT5 or LT-5.
I am having this put on a coat my wife had embroidered for Christmas and want to make sure it's right. |

LOL!
I recall the emblems that mid america, ecklers, and the like sold for the SBC's are of the format "LT-1", "LT-4", and "L.98". I always wondered where that stupid looking '.' came from for L98. As the engine is only an RPO and not a badge, I'd have to guess it's "LT5", not "LT-5"? I've no idea where they got the dash for the LT1/4 emblems either. One plus for us is that GM at some point considered using LT5 as an emblem. I believe those were "LT5" not "LT-5". So I'd say that's the correct way to display the engine code. |

The LT5 is going in the Bowtie on this coat. It is on the back.

I wonder if you could get them to embroider two more spokes on each wheel also? Heheh.
![]() Seeing that reminds me of the Chevy ad campaign from I believe the early 1990's "Beware the red bowtie" |

LT5. Check the picture of the '89 in "Heart of the Beast." LT5 is on the rear bumper.
