However, if you remove the fill cap of the overflow reservoir and drain a quart or so out of the radiator (passenger side corner), that should be enough. All that said, several of us who only drive 'em in the warm weather have plugged off the TB coolant - OR bypassed the TB (passing the hose under the plenum to the other side). P. |

No, do not drain coolant. Since the throttle body sits so high on the engine all you have to do is undo the two small lines on either side. Not much coolant, if any, will come out. Plug the lines temporarily so you don’t make a mess.
That’s a very strange place for a vacuum leak. You may very well find that was not the problem. Vacuum leaks around the throttle body are usually leakage around the throttle plates from wear or (more likely) removal of the DAG compound from around the throttle bore at the throttle plates. People think the DAG is dirt and wipe it off. If this is the case there’s a procedure for resetting the idle to compensate. H ![]() |

Yes I thought it was the throttle shaft but a pump smoke into the engine and I’m pretty sure it’s coming right from the throttlebody gasket driver side upper right hand corner right below that bolt I’m not going to remove it right now the previous owner stripped one of the bolts so I’m gonna order some new ones before I remove it

I also have a small leak at the injector housing at the bottom there’s a small tube that runs towards the center of the engine Maybe a half inch long and plugs into something in the center of the engine I could definitely see smoke coming from the injector housing side
