acceleration, He said, if the hose was soft, and pliable, that would be one of my problems, he was right, and the next morning, at the Museum,
I went to his tent, and he cut me a piece of new hose, showed How to replace it. He also said he the air cleaner needed to be replaced.
I had dyno'd the car the day before, and after the new map hose and
the air cleaner, it dyno'd and extra 22 hp. Holy mother of pearl, i was suprised, and delighted, and the hesitation was history.
Of course you probably already know, but the map sensor hose, is located right in the back in the middle of your plenum, there is an aluminum bracket, that you take off to get to it. Here's hoping it is something as simple as that.
i have been trying to chase some gremlins in the wifes red car and i read your deal on the map sensor hose ,tryied it and it solved the problem . thankyou , now if i can find that dumb fuse for the vaccume pump? would you know where that little fella is?

Brad,

The fuse is located next to the primary injector relay, attached to the left wheel well, about 10" or so in front of the battery. (See attached diagram)

Another common issue that yours sounds like is a collapsing intake duct.
When it warms up it bulks at 50% + throttle.

Check it or rienforce it.
Simple & cheap to try.

Yep! Someone mentioned that, and I can see that the boot pulled away from the air cleaner plenum since I cleaned the filter. I've got the tin snips handy, and a nice piece of aluminum flashing. Together they'll make such a nice internal sleeve; will not crush, and will smooth the air flow to boot!

If you use the correct factory piece, it is made out of plastic and is not subjected to collapsing.

No need to remove it. You can get your hand in between the firewall and the sensor with no issues.

I'm in the mode of a peripheral overhaul at this point, spurred by many suggestions made so far.

Two of the latest discoveries (resulting from suggestions here):

The intake snorkel hose was collapsing, and was not secured on the filter plenum end, for all intents and purposes. An internal aluminum sleeve now provides the support to the connection and the snorkel hose and looks "stock".

The secondary vacuum actuator line connection between the pump and the intake plenum had a slight leak. That is resolved, but now more than ever I want to see what is going on now under the plenum. (gaskets and plug wires and a coils are on the way!!).

Progress!!! (Stay turned!)
