Someone had to represent ZR-1 Net Registry …but it was weird being the only one in my group in the club lot
![]() This was our first time at FunFest, and we both enjoyed it. We arrived late afternoon on Thursday for the “caravan” to Newton for Yager’s birthday. We spent the day on the grounds Friday, and drove home (WI) on Saturday. Folks told me it had been bigger/better in the past, but it was a good outing as far as we were concerned. The ZR-1 drove well and averaged 25mpg over 750 miles (in spite of WOT at every occasion and a lot of idling and traffic waiting for the caravan). While I don’t care about mileage, I’m glad it wasn’t 10mpg! There were 4 other C4 ZR-1s present on Saturday. Marc H’s 1993, Frank H from Texas (he drove 900 miles the day before!), and another 1990 from Illinois whose owner I didn’t track down. I didn’t see a single C6 ZR1, but there were a number of C7 ZR1s. I had Dave McLellan sign the poster I keep in my window for shows (“ZR-1 is Corvette … only more so”). During his talk on the C8 he had some interesting things to say about the ZR-1 and gave a shout out to Marc H for making his Z so special. Enjoy the pics (hmm.. max of 5? I'll see if I can post more in a reply) Gary

It was fun and it was to great to meet you. Yes the C4 ZR-1s were a bit under represented but we did all have fun. Of course there was the nice collection of 3 generations of LT5s in Mike's Museum as well as 1989 #00080.
Great to meet some of the folks that I have spoken with from the Registry. :-) |
