In my attempt to figure out what's wrong with not getting a fuel level reading, i have removed the pump assembly only to discover that the float and switch has broken off. i looked everywhere for a complete replacement, but no one has one available and there is no time frame for new order. in the mean time, has anyone tried to by pass the issue with a fix?

Ask Mark Haibeck. He has a aftermarket sending unit he purchases from Summit sometimes. I can't remember the p/n.
Found it: Stewart Warner Performance Fuel Tank Sending Unit 439363-D

Thank you, I looked into that, but not ready to be drilling holes into the tank yet. Another forum member has me covered thank you!
