Hit a milestone with my car today. Have owned this for several years now and was bought with high mileage, but it still runs decent.
I wonder how many have hit this mileage? ![]() |

Big accomplishment!. And yes, it would be nice to know, if you can, how much of the powertrain is original. Any racing history if you know?
My car is also a '91 and currently has 123,000 miles. But the motor, transmission and rear gears are not original to the car. Here's to wishing you many more miles! ![]()

Congrats! I suspect, if we’ll maintained, the engine will outlast the rest of the car. I have 183k on mine but recently changed out the engine. Turns out I didn’t have too, but that’s a story I’ve previously posted. In the middle of a suspension rebuild currently.

I looked back and cannot find where you determined you did not have to change out the engine. I am curious the condition of the Chain Guide Facings after 183k miles???

That's great!
These cars were built to be driven, although many weren't. I have 176,800 on my 1990.It runs great. My plan is to make it to 250,000 like it was designed to do. I also have an original set of sleeves and pistons for the rebuild when the time comes. Gary

http://www.zr1.net/forum/showthread....ight=Short+cut As for the chain guides, we’ll never know. I sold the long block to Hovemann Racing in Germany. I never opened the timing or cam covers to look before shipping it off. H ![]() |
