I am replacing my windshield with a standard C4 . It supposedly has Solar rating. Anyway, I understand the there are two moldings/retainers that need replacing. Does anyone have the part numbers of these so I can be sure to get the right ones if I need them?
Also, is there a method to preserving the ones on the car. I think they are screwed on and glued on. Thanks |

Because it's a ZR-1, the owner of the company is supposed to be coming out personnally to make sure this job is done right, so I was told. happens on the 7th, so I will post pics and a scenario of what happened after that. |

John-
The reason I ask is the weatherstrip is expensive but a good idea to replace. If your installer is charging around $700 for the windshield and installation, that probably includes the strip. If it is a lot less, it may not. |

Price includes "molding" and is recommended. I am having them do a '94 Firebird at the same time and the "molding" is also required. This company has been in businees for 37 years, I am going to trust that they know what they are doing. I will be there for the whole job, so I plan on stopping them if something is F'ed up with the install. Price I have from them is only $275 so it must not include the weatherstrip/molding.
You're making me nervous, I am calling them tomorrow about this. Thanks |

I just started to buy all the weather strips and I know I paid at least $250.00 for just the windshield one......the genuine GM stuff is very pricey.
sorry, i forgot this John.....I can go look up the bill & give you the P/N & exact price if you need it.

John-
Sounds like a steal for the windshield and labor. Even if you pay extra for the strip, it will be a good deal. I am used to big city prices and getting hosed. Probably no reason to be nervous. |
