I am not sure how many were sold at the "Premium". I bought one for MSRP and know of a few more that went for that. Later on you could pick them up at a discount.
I took a pretty good bath on mine after driving it a couple of years, but nothing like the one's that paid the premium took or will take if they decide to sell.

Remember, $66,000 in 1994 is equivelant to $110,381 in today's dollars.
In October 91, I bought a brand new 91z for $47,000 - about $18,000 off the sticker. The dealer, Sports Chevrolet in Silver Spring, Md., was eager to get this car out of the showroom since 92 base vettes with 300 hp LT1s were expected soon.

5k to build your own motor is nuts but Id probably do it just for the cool factor.

Yet this engine is just another LS Tupperware motor.

The $5k probably goes to the UAW,
not in GM's pocket...

If I'm gonna dream, might as well dream all the way.
I'd be thrilled if I could keep it at your house, as long as you don't mind taking it out once in a while to keep the oils moving.
