Re: Why oh why would they pull the LT5
Clearly a case of a project with more dollars than sense.
I’m sure the shop made a lot more off the project by changing the engine. Would be great if one of us could rescue this LT5 and put it back in something more deserving.

Coooll, go for it!
No way that twin turbo setup would fit under the hood of a C4 ZR-1. Sent from my iPhone using ZR-1 Net Registry

Re: Why oh why would they pull the LT5
Although like all of you, I find the LT-5 to be magnificent, time does march on.
Once upon a time it was: modded flat head Ford motors Cadillac power or nothing 283 Power Pack Fuelie Motors 409's 392 Hemi's 396's 427's etc. Although sad to say it; Guess it's time to add another. Marty |

Re: Why oh why would they pull the LT5
Oh, blah, blah, blah...justa danged minute here...
Cheap HP does NOT define a technology's "state of the art", unless of course your name is John Force. Here in FBI land, we've listened to the same old Chicagoland club bench racers go on and on about their pushrod superiority. Yet, when the rubber meets the road, for MOST of the 8 years a local all Corvette Shootout has been held*, somehow these "old LT5s" just keep kicking their azzez! Fastest time Quickest light Fastest Team (3-car agg) I look forward to the next GM DOHC V8. Then (finally) the question will be, "Why did we halt LT5 development? WTF were we thinking???"

Re: Why oh why would they pull the LT5
That was the last year. It was our three ZRs that came away w the aggregate times and the trophy for the 6th time in a row(I think).
