Re: Cam Timing Pins
Just curious, but how much play is there? The original GM pins can move as much as 6 degrees after they have been pinned. You always had to plan on that when timing the cams and the force exerted on the cam bolts when you tightened them down. You may have thought you had the perfect 110/116 timing but when you checked them no telling where the timing ended up.

Re: Cam Timing Pins
Hows that square engine treating you? I hope everything is going well and the car still scares you.

Re: Cam Timing Pins
The 4x4 was a rocket but had to come out for the original stock motor in order to get through the tough emission inspections we enjoy in Northern Virginia. This time it will go back in as a 427 using the 4" stroker crank again and this time with 4.125" bore liners and pistons which should give it a little more giddy up. As you Texans are fond of saying "to much is never enough"

Count me in for a set too. Perfect timing as I have the engine out of my '91 for a rebuild, 160k miles. Tony |
