One caveat: what I read was a little confusing, but it sounded like the 840HP peak apparently occurs with race fuel. Closer to 800 with standard 91. Still an amazing figure, but it makes me wonder what a standard 707HP Hellcat would produce if it was tuned to run on race gas. Plus, you can get the standard one with a stick...auto only for the Demon.

You would need a race clutch with a manual transmission.
Most people don't enjoy a race clutch! |

When I was at spring Carlisle last year I got a chance to watch some of the auctions......I remember seeing a 2015 hellcat with the original window sticker..
It was actually less than the price of my 91Z when it was new....Go figure, 700 horsepower and over 600 ft.lbs of torque for less money...I remember someone telling me if you ordered these Hellcats when they came out there was no dealer Mark up.....That's what I heard...Don't know if it was true.. Never drove a hellcat and don't know many people that own one....Spoke to one guy last summer who was a car enthusiast and he said the power and technology are incredible......Thing I notice about those cars is that they are in fact on the heavy side....Never the less,700 useable HP speaks for itself... Since they are not going to build many Demons I Gaurantee you will see dealer Mark ups....... Looks like a bad *** machine .....Not in red though ...Lol.... |

Gotta give Dodge credit--very impressive product given that it is street legal (but, ironically, not NHRA drag strip legal). I loved my 500 HP ZR-1s and felt they were quick but manageable, even for someone not accustomed to higher horsepower cars. My current 650 HP Z06 -- 30% more power -- is very easy to drive on a regular basis but under full power it is really more than I can handle, even after two days at the Ron Fellows Corvette driving school. So I am probably not a buyer for the Demon. Which is just as well as I still love all the Corvettes!--Bob

I have a Hellcat...feeling a Demon kinda...just don't want to live without the HC suspension and brakes. Nor do I really car for the fender flares. But the trans brake and 840HP nailing you back into the seat at 1.9G's pulling a 3 foot wheelie, and blistering the 1/4 mile at 9.65 seconds and 140MPH. Thats just pure awesomeness!
