Default whats the best oil to use

time for the first oil change . whats the best oil for me to use and the best filter . how much oil do they take ?

I agree with tf95ZR1, that thread is worth reading. I would also direct you to read an article written by Marc Haibeck for one of our newsletters this year on oil changing do's & don't's ...it's very informative & I learned alot from it.

Also, you might want to do some reading at Bob the Oil Guy's site as I felt the info there was very enlightening.

I use full synthetic M1 10w-30 w/a Bosch 3401 filter or a M1 207 filter. If you let the car sit unused overnight you will need 10 qts to do an oil & filter change. I do mine every 5k with a filter at 2.5k inbetween....or after I feel I've abused the oil after crusing with my pals, then I do another O & F change.

Also, and this is JMHO, but you want a brand name synthetic as they are generally better at operating in the very cold and very hot ends of the operating ranges. Ya know cold start up and cold oil operation, they perform better than dino oils generally.
