Not a lot of cons, gas mileage insignificantly less than stock gears.
Pros More torque thru the 1st 4 gears, higher rpm in 5th and 6th on the interstate, but I think 4:10 gears will do both of these things better than 3:73, and that is why I am changing to them.
I don't drag or road race, and am no expert, but I think 3:73 gears are better suited to someone with a modded engine with a lot more than stock horsepower. Someone who tracks their Z or drag races. That is the buyer I probably should find. Jim

Accurate and correct!!!
DRM specified the 3.73 as the best for their modded motors.
I come out of first so quickly with the 3.73 as is, that I am likely not the best driver for a 4.10 setup in drag race mode, but I would bet the 4.10 would seem to always be in the sweet-spot regardless of gear while driving, especially in 5 and 6!
My 3.73 has whined from the day I first got it. Fortunately, the obnoxious to some but wonderful to me exhaust note drowns it out.
Good luck with the 4.10s, you are sure to enjoy them!

Marty

Jim,
That is great.
You mentioned in your initial post that it always ran quiet!
My mention of my whine was not a knock of yours, just a comment on mine.
I have a carrier here with a 4.56 that I kept looking at, but finally decided 4.56 was simply over the top too much!
You will be quite happy with your 410's, and for your asking price that is a very inexpensive and significant upgrade to the 345's.
I would not change out my 373 to any other ratio, that is how pleased I am with it, even with the song mine sings!
