![]() You will have to Push it down to latch it ![]() I would be concerned the Hood would then come up while you are driving blocking your sight as you slow down. The Hood will not come up too far at 60 mph but as you slow down it will come to full open especially if you are braking.

I know 'a guy' (in my best Chicago accent) who has both...and it is sweet! No problems to speak of...

I am not so sure........ a new gas filled strut will work just fine. The "a guy" prolly added the mini struts as his main hood strut was failing.
If I get anymore lift on my New main Strut, I will have to push down as the Hood closes the last couple feet to lock the Hood in place. The New Strut has so much lift that I have to pull it down the first two feet of movement to get the Hood to start to close.

I think Cliff is right. Just installed Ami's new hood support strut and new hatch rods.
The hood opens with light lift effort until the half way point.. Then it raises up ALMOST on its own. The hatch immediately pops open and lifts smoothly to full extension. Hardest part was finding a tool to remove the old clips from the ends of the gas struts. But, using a jewlers screwdriver they popped out easily. The new struts (2-hatch struts, one hood strut) snap right in place - EASY-PLEASEY. |

Thanks for the tip on front hood supports - will change out asap as it takes two arms to open gently.
