Changing gears from 3:73 to 4:10. While I am at it I wanted to add a drain for the lube. Thinking about going quick and cheap, by drilling a drain hole in the carrier and using the Bat Wing bottom bolt as a drain.
Question is how well does this work, and does the Bat Wing cover bolt ever develop a leak? Going to use The Right Stuff RTV for the cover sealant. Thanks Jim

I would not complicate it............Just drill and use a 1/8" pipe tap for a 1/8" Pipe Plug as shown which gets you at the Bottom of the Differential Case.

I placed the Differential Drain Plug just on the Drivers Side of what I call the Molding Seam in the Center of the Flange Thickness.
The kit provides a template that puts the hole just left of the center bolt in the valley of the differential.
