What year? Specifically, was it a 90-92 or a 93-95 motor? Was some or all of the porting done, or was it stock? |

60 lbs for a crank? Thought my LS7 OEM one was bad at 56+ lbs. I saved almost 10 lbs on a 406 build going from stock cast LS6 one to a Scat Forged lightweight unit.
Thanks for the weights. |

That stock LT5 crank is a damn fine crankshaft from Shardlow. There is a 10168688 on Ebay right now for $400 |

Thank you for the weight comparison with the LT4 build. I figured there was a good 12+ lbs of weight that could be theoretically saved.

I don't question the LT5 crank build. At 1/10th the cost of a Bryant crank it's a worthwhile trade-off. I'm finally taking the plunge on the Snake Skinner build and figuring where weight savings can be made and overall gains.
Gen IV LS7. |
