4.4 pints for transmission oil = 2.1 liters?
Hi,
I saw that I need 4.4 pints to change transmission oil on my '91 ZR-1. 4.4 pints is 2.1 liters, which would be two bottles like this: Does it make sense? I thought such a big transmission would use much more oil, something like 5 liters at least... |

Yes....that is correct (2 Liters)......I fill through that top Transmission Fill port such that fluid is dripping out (I then give it a couple more shots using my plastic fluid pump screwed onto the Castrol Edge Bottle) holding a paper towel keeping the fluid from running out. Then with Permatex already applied to the threads...screw in the top plug. ZR-1 should be on a level surface side to side and front to Rear.

Buy 3 bottles. it is very hard to pump out 100 percent of the liter bottle, plus you will probably spill some ml. Also some oil will remain in the pump. You will probably almost use 2.5L.
