Is there a trick to get the cap off? I have turned it counterclockwise as far as it will turn but will not come off.

I don't think ZR-1 caps are special. You should be able to look at the sides to see the two tabs that keep it on. At some point while you're unscrewing it, the two male tabs on the cap should align with the two female slots on the tank's neck.

My cap "sticks" some times. It requires pushing down while turning. I find it helps to put one hand under the coolant tank so the downward force is not cracking the attachment tabs.

There are two small tabs on the coolant tank top that requires to first turn the cap counterclockwise until the cap is loose or almost loose. Then push down so the cap tabs clear the two small additional tabs on the tank top. DO NOT FORCE it without pushing down. That is a safety feature to prevent you from getting a gush of 200 deg coolant in your face and the cap up your nose ![]()

Sometimes it helps to use a rubberized work glove. Push down and turn with the heel of your hand till it stops. Release. Then, push down and turn again until it pops off.
