Just remove the backing and replace with 3M double-faced product that is meant to be used for such applications. There are good, better and better still products. As little as you need I'd think a collision shop in the area would likely oblige.

Actually the emblem portion has separated from the backing. I have tried hot glue, and the double faced adhesive stuff it too thick. Since this is the "plastic" portion of the emblem and it seems to have bent a bit, its tough to re-form it to the necessary contour. Maybe a bit of heat gun might help. |
