Rev. limiter
OK guys, maybe a dumb question, but I took my car to 7,600 RPM yesterday and did not hit the rev. limiter. So, other than it having a different chip in it is there any other reason/s for this. Sure wish a knew the cars history better !
Thanks in advance, Bob

Re: Rev. limiter
Tach could be off a few hundred, I think Marc set my chip at 7400. maybe you can find someone with a scanner to double check it.

Re: Rev. limiter
If the tach is off, and it probably is unless the limiter has been boosted, calibrating it is not difficult for anyone with a little experience with soldering on PC boards.
(Note: The procedure abounds, but if you find you need it, let me know and I can PM you, or maybe it should be made a "sticky" on this web page!)

Re: Rev. limiter
My tach is off by 1000 up there, but looks cool when you are shifting at 8000 RPM. I have a axillary tach mounted.

Re: Rev. limiter
Mine is only off by 200 rpm or so over 7000 indicated rpm. My limiter is set 100 rpm past stock so about 7200. I think it displays close to 7400 when it cuts so no need to take the gauges apart to fine tune the resistances, but mostly I go by sound and pull the shift when the needle is at about 7k on my gauge.

Re: Rev. limiter
Dyno is the master, but try this Marc tip, Engine speed displayed in HVAC LCD panel, press fan up and down buttons together until -00 shows, then fan up until -06, then press fan icon, display 3 digit #( mine was 155 ) x 25( mine was 3875) to equal RPM, do this at 4K RPM, mine off only 125
