Is there going to be drag racing at the NCM track? I haven't heard mention of it being set up for that.
If not, why not?

What I hear Bob is the track has a 4000' straight away, but they don't want to compete with their friends at Beach Bend. -Steve

I figured it would be something like that.
It certainly limits the use of the track, considering that drag racing is probably the most popular form of amateur racing in the USA.

Bob,

I asked that question last year when on a tour of the track as it was under construction. The response made sense. NCM did not feel a need to compete w a facility nearby. Also, there are no road courses in the area. In addition, the requirements for running a drag strip were too expensive.
