Re: Who paid $1K for the 89 Promo model?
A few years back there was a guy called ZR1nut. Maybe? Or the gentlemen in Phoenix? I know it was not me. My last stack of coin bought suspension parts. My next gets me fuel injectors. As for my wife? Well since we do not have a dog for me to shair quarters with I just sleep in the garage.

Re: Who paid $1K for the 89 Promo model?
I tried to find one of these several years ago. Found one in FL if I recall. A disc jockey had a collection and was willing to sell, but the price was too high. Over $1,000 back then. I think it is destined to always be the top collectible item in memorabilia.

Re: Who paid $1K for the 89 Promo model?
That's more than half what I paid for my beater 4wd winter beater pickup....
Also, it took at least 2 bidders to get it up that high, so there were at least two guys that really, really wanted it. |
