120k miles, Black on Black, $15k.
http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/4340688120.html Paint looks OK in the pic, but we all know black is a hard color to maintain. The cat isn't a huge problem, headers and aftermarket cats are the answer. The hard part is getting it past the Smog Nazis, and although it is possible/legal to do so it could possibly be a pain in the azz. 'Crabs |

you can get a manifold for that. Just have to see what kind of maint. and repair has been done to it. if he kept after it, a manifold-ectomy and a set of O2 sensors wouldn't be too much trouble. If he didn't do much, then it could be in need of a couple of grand in repair parts.

I think this car is sold. I was watching the ebay auction - no reserve, winning bid was $11,700. Good buy for someone.

That's odd.
The eBay auction ended yesterday. The Craigslist posting went up today. Looks to me like a failed sale maybe? 'Crabs |

At 15k, with the mileage, it looks like a fair deal....at 11,700, if that's what it sold for, it's a pretty good deal.
Hard to tell about the paint from the photo. It's been my experience, from looking at a lot of cars, that if the photo in the ad shows the paint wet, then the paint is rough or worn at best. My '56 Merc ratrod with very worn out original paint looked pretty shiny when wet after sitting in a barn for 30+ years. I'd be curious to see what the interior looks like after all those miles. Might be ok, if the worn out, torn, and broken parts were replaced as needed. I'm lucky enough to live in a place where the cat thing isn't of any concern unless it's clogged and killing the power and fuel mileage. Oh, and a heads up for anyone selling on ebay. All someone's doing when they win the bid is securing the option to buy the car for that amount. Vehicle sales are not binding at all on there. Pretty frustrating if you pay $150 in fees just to have someone come out and not buy the car. You can do that with CL all day long for free. Chris Last edited by csavaglio; 02-20-2014 at 03:14 AM. |
