I really need to wax our z. Too many cone marks!

No category for me, ours is pretty much race only but I've never found a limiter - too busy turning.

Cheers,
- Jeff

A great friend of mine (just retired from 25 years as a deputy Sheriff in Cook Co) wanted to drive my Z, so I tossed him the keys. He "hammered" it up to only about 5800 rpm before shifting, and remarked afterward how it was about like someone's Mustang. I said, "Uh, huh.." We switched places.

Cruising up in first to about 4k rpm, a power shift to 2nd and a couple quick gears to the 7100 shift light, and a wide eyed passenger came away with a whole new perspective on what a healthy DOHC race motor is all about!

Frankly, it was the same reaction I had the first time I ran the quarter in (my then stock) Z. I'd never tracked it before, and was simply amazed at what a huge surprise there was lurking under the hood of the ZR-1! I remember releasing the clutch at about 2500 rpm and the hood suddenly covering the bottom 1/3 of my view of the track...through ever gear! Best of all, there was a C5 that got the jump on me, but at the top of every gear, the Z took a big bite as the C5 shifted to the next higher gear. The thrill of the Z reeling him in at the 1/8th and stuffing him at the finish...set me on the Warrior path forever!
Oh yes Paul. Your journey to the dark side was complete.

Lol! Your orgasmic illustration of the high revving LT5 is quite vivid Pual. I guess you could say that we are all pornographically addicted to the LT5 in some way. The difference is we don't have to enter the adult book store incognito and rent our favorite porno. We just walk into the garage and slide into the tight seat "at least in the 90 model" and slap it into reverse to back out of the hibernation cave where the beast lies dormant to then tear up the streets with this out dated throwback to the late 80's "in style" but underestimated monster that lives within to surprise those not in the know "which largely culminates the masses in our society" Would you not agree with this most descriptive and colorful statement?

Just don't ask me to wear this!

Then again, I would wear the vest! One of my favorite movies of all time!!!

Your never going to see a speed like this with your ZR-1 in the 1/4 mile anyway unless you had the balls to push it like I have.

I have yet to see fewer than a hand full that have done much beyond the 1/4 mile. Just saying.
I can't agree with you more. With 4 buffers and a Rups 21 on the way that would make me a waxer. However, I take my cars to the track any chance I get. So I guess I am a Waxer Warrior.

Bob,

First of all looks like you made it home before the snow flew. Good.
Second, it's the wax that makes the car slip through the air faster ain't it?
