I received the fuel line clip today. I decided to try installation right away. Things did not go well. Nothing to do with the clip though. When I tried to take the nut off, the stud came out instead. I'm thinking of using epoxy when screwing it back in. When I took the old broken clip off, I dropped it into the engine compartment. It made a sound like it hit the exhaust shielding. It did not fall to the ground and I can't see where it went. I'm afraid it may be inside the shielding and if I leave it there it will melt when things heat up. One day I'm going to jack the car up and try to find the clip from under the car.

The stud coming out is not unusual.....I think I would just screw the stud back in tight but not so tight you strip the threads in that box material.

You can always epoxy the stud if you strip the threads or if you want to make the stud permanent later. If I am not mistaken, Carter machined a recess for the stud collar so the fuel line clip is snugged up tight against the box and not just snugged up tight on the collar of the stud.

That little clip melting somewhere is really not a big deal....just let it melt and when you remove the exhaust adding headers you will find the little crisp piece of what is left. It should not hurt anything where it dropped. I have found all sorts of dropped items including injectors down among the suspension components so guys/gals dropping things and leaving them is not unusual either

Yes, I machined an inside step to clear the stud flange and to allow the billet fuel line bracket to rest flush on the boss. When I installed my billet fuel line bracket the stud was loose on mine, too.
I just retightened it and installed the bracket with no issues. Be sure to orient the two halves of the billet fuel line bracket by mating the two sides with the RED mark on each half.

Here's my bracket that I got from Carter last week. The quality of his work is extremely nice! It was more difficult than I expected to line up the fuel lines to where they would sit in the bracket correctly but once in place they look fantastic! Here goes a couple of pics...

Thanks again! I finally got around to installing the clamp/bracket today. It did not work like the photos in the post above, but I was able to get the clamps to close flush after pulling the entire end part past so that the bracket is holding just the steel braided part line. No matter what I did (red marks matching and all, even flipped around thinking one opening was larger) it would not clamp flush.
